First of all it's very important to clarify that the Nannyinsure contingent motor insurance does not cover the nanny when she is driving whilst on duty. She must be insured as a named driver on her employer's motor insurance for this purpose. The contingent motor insurance only covers the nanny in the event of an accident where she is a passanger of the vehicle and is undertaking nanny duties. An example of such a situation would be if a parent is driving the car and the nanny is in the back seat with the children.
If the children are unruly and distract the driver and there is a (motor) accident as a result, the Motor Insurer may consider this to be the fault of the nanny for failing to control the children, rather than the driver. In such a scenario the Motor Insurer pays the claim and then tries to make a recovery from the nanny policy.
