how much does it cost?

The cost is broken down as follows:

£100 - Application fee, this is non-refundable. You will need to pay an annual fee in order to remain on the register. So far the amount for this has not been set
£8 - Admin fee charged by the Post Office for verification service
CRB check - this is currently fully subsidised by the Government, but from April it will be charged at £38

Who pays?
Although it is the parents that benefit from employing a registered nanny it could also be argued that if you are registered you will be more employable. Therefore it is in your interest to discuss the costs involved with your employer, and come to an arrangement of who pays for what. You should also consider that if your employers pay this may be considered a benefit in kind and must in that case be declared as such.
